The Investigation
|
| |
Our investigation started in the Sheriff's Home, with the group dividing into two teams. Lee and Mary started in the parlor, while Judy, Noelle, and Christine started upstairs. We held one hour vigils, doing EMF readings and EVP recordings , then switched places. When Judy, Noelle, and Christine entered the parlor, Judy's camcorder battery went dead as soon as she turned it on. She had charged the battery earlier that day. In the stairway sits an old baby crib. We noticed a definite cold spot in the center, while the hood and end was at room temperature. We took EMF readings, but nothing unusual was found. We then went to the Jail. We switched teams and Lee, Mary, and Christine witnessed some black shadows in the lower cells. We then concluded the investigation.

Evidence Review
|
| |
After reviewing the video, we did not discover any unusual phenomena. During the audio review, we found three EVP's. We were in the lower jail cells where we caught these EVP's. On the first, Christine asked "do you want to communicate?", a moment later a "no" is heard. The second EVP is some whispers, but it was no one in our group. The third EVP happens after Lee says "I'm going to take a picture" and a low thick grunt is heard. We did not find any other evidence.

Conclusion
|
| |
Due to the numerous personal experiences and EVP evidence, we concluded that there was enought evidence to warrant a second investigation. We would like to thank Steve Noll, President of the Jackson County Historical Society, for the opportunity to do an investigation at the 1859 Jail, Marshall's Home and Museum.
